This section outlines how to order you product, and addresses any lingering questions you may have about what you can expect from Summerwood. Placing an Order

It's very simple to order your structure online, however if you would prefer to order by phone that's fine too. Just call 1 866 519-4634 and one of our courteous design professionals will walk you through it, providing helpful guidance along the way. Like you, we want to make sure that everything is just right.

Deposit & Payment

A 30% deposit is required at the time of order, with the balance due prior to shipping. For your convenience, we accept payment by cheque, Visa and Mastercard. If the balance is being paid by cheque, a certified cheque will expedite the shipping process. Otherwise we will wait for the cheque to clear our bank before shipping. Summerwood Products offers our customers a safe and secure shopping experience. Our site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. We use industry-standard encryption technology for the transmission of your personal financial information. Financial information is password protected and is only made available to authorized personnel for billing purposes.

We secure our site using Thawte Digital Certificates. This ensures that all information you provide us will be encrypted and secure, and renders the information unreadable should anyone attempt to intercept it. Please click on the Thawte icon to visit their site and confirm their credentials.


Please note that under no circumstances do we ever disclose or release any confidential information to third parties. Like you, we are not fond of spam, and go to great lengths to safeguard the personal information you share with our company. Your name will not find its way onto any mass circulation databases and there will not be any new "junk mail" in your mailbox because of your involvement with us.


Our site uses 'cookies' that collect limited, non-personally identifying information your browser makes available. This log information may include information on browser types and languages, how our site is navigated and one or more cookies that may uniquely identify browsers or operating systems. We then use this information to operate, develop and improve our site and to correct any technical imperfections. Accepting cookies is not required to enjoy our site, but some services may not function properly without them (ie the use of the "My Portfolio" tool).

Shipping Arrangements

Once the details of your order have been confirmed, we will provide you with a "week of" shipping date. Although we are usually pretty accurate, please appreciate that this is only an estimate and we are more concerned with getting it right then rushing products out the door. Generally, it takes approximately 3 to 4 weeks to ship an order, however this will fluctuate with seasonal ebb and flow. If you have questions about your order or ship date, please contact Us.

Confirmation of Shipping Date

One week prior to your tentative shipping date, we will contact you to verify that your order is on schedule. At this time, we will also provide notice that the freight company will contact you to confirm delivery.

Accepting Shipment

We require that you be prepared to accept delivery of your structure once your product is ready to ship. We will store your structure for up to 7 days past the date specified for shipping without charge; however we have limited space and will levy a storage fee of $50 per day after that. After 30 days in storage, the unit will be disposed and we will look to you to honor the balance of the contract.

Changing an Order

If for any reason you need to modify your order (e.g. you would like to move a window or change the siding colour), you can make changes within a week of your placing an order, free of charge. If you wish to change your order past this timeframe, there is a charge of $75 for each modification.

Please note that changes can only be accommodated if your structure has not been built yet. Once your structure is in production, it becomes very costly to make any changes. We encourage you make your selections carefully so that you are comfortable with your purchase decision.

Returns & Cancellations

Because each Summerwood building is custom made to order, we do not allow order cancellations or product returns. As such, please ensure that you are ordering exactly what you want and rest assured that we will provide the necessary support to ensure that you are delighted with your experience. We value your business and are committed to serving you again and again.

Refunds & Permits

Please appreciate that due to the custom made-to-order nature of our products, our deposits are non-refundable. That said, if you feel that you might need a building permit but would also like to take advantage of a promotion or just secure a spot in our production queue, ask your sales person about adding a conditional clause to your order whereby the order is cancelled and the deposit refunded (less drawing fees) should the permit condition not be met.

Manufacturing or Shipping Problems

Our manufacturing and shipping process is closely scrutinized and we work hard to ensure that your Summerwood experience delights you at every step of the way. However, if a problem arises or if you have any concerns, we encourage you to contact us immediately. We will provide prompt and courteous assistance online or by phone.

Reimbursement for Out of Pocket Expenses

Although our service hours are very generous, there may be times when you are unable to contact a customer support representative. Should you encounter a problem during off hours we will re-imburse you up to $100 for expenses incurred due to an omission or deficiency on our part without prior approval. Simply provide us with a brief explanation and a copy of the receipts and we will apply a credit.

Any costs exceeding this amount must be approved by Summerwood prior to action being taken to qualify for reimbursement.

Warranty Details
