Gazebos (Bali Tea House)
This section includes all the structural dimensions, elevations, sample permit drawings and engineering calculations you'll need to plan for your Victorian Gazebo. Should you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Style Features
The Bali Tea House is a Japanese inspired design that affords you two separate spaces in one building. The enclosed portion can be used as a hot tub enclosure or sun filled office space but the porch... the porch is for relaxation and meditation.
Some of the building features include:
- a classic Dutch Hip Roof line that gives the feeling or open space
- exposed rafters
- cedar from top to bottom
- a porch that can be made to suit your individual size requirements
- impeccable detail in the spandrels and corner brackets
- much more... not to mention the available upgrades!
We can help with the interior of the building as well. If you have an idea for what you'd like to use the structure for, let us know and we'll help design the outside to fit your interior needs. See example below:

Elevation Dimensions

Please click here to learn more about the construction of and the variety of many windows, doors and other options available for this and all of our other designs.
| Bali Tea House Height Chart | |
| Depth (Dimension A) | Overall Height (C) |
| Standard Overhang (12") | |
| 10ft. | 11' 10 ½" |
| 12ft. | 12' 5 ½" |
| 14ft. | 12' 10 ½" |
Floor
The total heights listed above included the floor. If you don't want your building to include the floor, simply subtract the following dimensions:
| Building Depth | Subtract |
| 10 ft. | 8 ¾” |
| greater than 10ft. | 10 ¾” |
Height
Extra height may be added to your structure at the time of sale. If you add extra height to your building, simply increase the overall height of the building by the added amount.
Plan Dimensions

Please note:
- - One row of 1 x 6 cedar skirting is provided with each structure (providing the floor is not omitted)
- - To calculate the square footage, multiply
A x B e.g. a structure with dimensions 10 ft. x 20 ft. (where A=10 and B=20), equal 200 sq. ft.

Notes on Dimensions
- Our measurements (i.e. 10ft. x 20ft.) are taken from the outside of the floor plates and studs, therefore, they don't include the siding (see figure 1)
- For true interior measurements, subtract the floor plates/studs (i.e. 2 x 3 ½" = 7"). Note: 2 x 4 is actually 1 ½" x 3 ½" due to the properties of "finished lumber"
- For true exterior dimensions, also add the siding and corner pieces. The Canexel siding is ⅜" thick, the cedar siding is ¾" thick and the log siding is 1 ½" thick. The corner trim is ¾" thick (see figure 1).
- Please note that the Bali Tea House dimensions include ½ enclosed space and ½ covered deck space.
If you have any other questions pertaining to the size of the building, please do not hesitate to ask us, we're here to help.

Details
The Dutch Hip roof style is a self-supporting roof, therefore, it allows for more overhead room. The overhead space is maximized; however, because of the lack of trusses, roof storage space is absent. If storage space is an issue in such a building, consider installing benches and/or shelves.
To see exactly what the structure is made of, please see the Construction Cutaway drawing. The pricing & features icon can be placed here.
Materials
Every structure, regardless of style or size, is designed and manufactured to exacting standards. We use the finest materials available and provide options where possible. If there is a particular item you would like and it's not part of our offering, we are happy to try and source it for you. For information on the various materials we use, please see the Materials section under Information.
Roof Details

Please note that because the Bali Tea House has an exposed rafter roof, we have included rafter blocks between the rafters to prevent creepy crawly friends from entering the building. The exposed peaks of the gable end include a triangular vent but you can choose to add a window or enclose it with cedar.
Engineering And Technical Details
Our buildings are designed to withstand the rigors of life in North America. It is rare that our specs will not meet code. Whether you live in the Northeast, the Southwest or anywhere in between, snow and wind calculations have all been considered in the design of your product (so you won't have to worry about ever leaving Kansas). Our engineering is solid.
For example, in climates like Alaska, Colorado and Maine where snow loads are important and the PSF reaches 70, our construction not only stands up to these codes but exceeds them. If you'd like to see what the snow & wind loads are in your area, please click here.
In areas where wind is a factor like Florida, Louisiana and Rhode Island, the wind load PSF reaches 140. Again, our construction is above standard.
Should you have any specific requirements for roof construction to satisfy specific and unique bylaws, please let us know and we'll build your roof to comply. A small surcharge may apply.
Permit & Drawings
If you require a permit drawing for your Victorian building, we can accommodate your requests. To see what a set of generic permit drawings look like, please click here. For more details, please see permits under our Information section.
