Floor
All of our garages and measurements within this document do not include a floor.
Extra Height
Extra height may be added to your structure at the time of sale. If you add extra height to your building, simply increase the overall height of the building by the added amount.
Plan Dimensions

Please note:
- - The Archer garage does not come with
a floor - - To calculate the square footage, multiply
A x B e.g. a structure with dimensions 12 ft. x 20 ft. (where A=12 and B=20), equal 240 sq. ft.
Archer Floor
Please see the Archer height chart for dimensions and layout.

Notes on Dimensions
- Our measurements (i.e. 12ft. x 20ft.) are taken from the outside of the floor plates and studs, therefore, they don't include the siding
- For true interior measurements, subtract the floor plates/studs (i.e. 2 x 5 1/2" = 11"). Note: 2 x 6 is actually 1 1/2" x 5 1/2" due to the properties of "finished lumber"
- For true exterior dimensions, also add the siding and corner pieces. The Canexel siding is 3/8" thick, the cedar siding is 3/4" thick and the log siding is 1 1/2" thick. The corner trim is 3/4" thick (see figure below)
If you have any other questions pertaining to the size of the building, please do not hesitate to ask us, we're here to help.

Details
The Hip roof style is a self-supporting roof, therefore, it allows for more overhead room. The overhead space is maximized; however, because of the lack of trusses, roof storage space is absent. If storage space is an issue in such a building, consider installing benches and/or shelves.
Enhanced Siding Package
This package is a standard feature with our Garages. The package adds a layer of plywood sheathing and building wrap (with spun nylon webbing) between the siding and the studs. It's a great first step to insulating your walls for a moisture free environment. For more on this feature, please see the Archer spec document.
Materials
Our garages are built from a variety of different materials and material sizes. To find more specific information on what we use and what's available, please see the construction cutaway or the Information - Materials section of our site.
Options and Upgrades
Our options and upgrades range from garage friendly insulated windows and doors, to cupolas and cedar framing and sheathing. For more info, go to Garages - options.

Engineering And Technical Details
Our buildings are designed to withstand the rigors of life in North America. It is rare that our specs will not meet code. Whether you live in the Northeast, the Southwest or anywhere in between, snow and wind calculations have all been considered in the design of your product (so you won't have to worry about ever leaving Kansas). Our engineering is solid.
For example, in climates like Alaska, Colorado and Maine where snow loads are important and the PSF reaches 70, our construction not only stands up to these codes but exceeds them. If you'd like to see what the snow & wind loads are in your area, please click here.
In areas where wind is a factor like Florida, Louisiana and Rhode Island, the wind load PSF reaches 140. Again, our construction is above standard.
Should you have any specific requirements for roof construction to satisfy specific and unique bylaws, please let us know and we'll build your roof to comply. A small surcharge may apply.
Permits & Drawings
If you require a permit drawing for your Archer building, we can accommodate your requests. To see what a set of generic permit drawings look like, please click here. For more details, please see permits under our Information section.
