Rich dark tone, like mahogany, excelent rot resistant quality, stable wood, beautiful constrast with Western red cedar cladding.
Douglas Fir
Excellent strength to weight ratio, more pronounced grain pattern, golden honey color, seamlessly match Douglas fir plywood floors, ceiling, cabinets
White Oak or Rift Cut Oak
Excellent hardness and durability, hardest of available woods, nice tight closed grain, good to withstand outdoor use, lighter wood of the three, but will turn honey with stain
Western Red Cedar
Excellent durability, natural repellent to insects.
