The Fastest is Online: When you purchase your studio
plans, an e-mail is sent with a link to your building plan. Just save these
files on your system and then print them out when you're ready to go material
shopping.
Traditional Mail: We can send a hard copy of your garden studio/home
office plans with all the instructions, material lists, cut lists, etc
and
you'll still have access to online tools like an assembly video, ask an expert
and more. Shipping and handling charges cost $50 for delivery by mail (typically
4-5 bus. days), or $95 for FedEx over-night.
The spot you ultimately choose for your studio depends on your needs, taste
and property. Do you want a peaceful retreat, hidden from curious neighbors? Or
a showpiece to make them green with envy? You'll need to consider the foundation
for your studio as well. Patio stones, set solid with crushed limestone, can be
effective. If you're going to be installing plumbing for a sink, toilet or
shower in your backyard studio, learn more about
foundations.
Size will dictate if you need a permit for your studio. Anything over 100 sq. ft. will likely require a building permit. Check with your local building permit office. This library of regional listings may well have the number of the office you need to contact. In addition, concerns over renting studios as apartments have caused some areas to implement special requirements when plumbing and electrical are installed. Get more zoning and permit information here.
