Summerwood playhouses come in three formats - prefab, precut and installed.
Prefabricated playhouse kits ship in prebuilt sections. Floors, walls, and roof sections are prebuilt in our factory, saving you time during the installation process. Prefab playhouses are also less involved to assemble, allowing for the less experienced do it yourselfer. Prefab kits take less time to assemble, so if time is a factor, it's a good format to select.
Precut playhouse kits ship with all the required material measured and precut, ready for assembly. Nothing is prebuilt with precut kits, so the assembly process is more involved and requires about 30% more time to construct, and a higher skill level is required for assembly.
Installed playhouse kits are the quickest and easiest path to the perfect playhouse. Available in the Greater Toronto area, with a maximum range of 300 kilometers from our factory, our expert installation crew will come out to your location and complete your playhouse installation in just a day, or less. Since our crews eat, sleep and breath our structures you can be sure of a perfect install, and in the shortest possible time frame.

Some of the most important issues that will require foresight and planning include the playhouse foundation and obtaining proper building permits.
In most cases a simple crushed stone and patio stone foundation will suffice - but factors such as the size of the playhouse, where it's being installed, and ground conditions will play a role. The larger the playhouse is the more likely it will be that you'll need to consider either a concrete pad, or concrete sonotube foundation. The same applies for situations where the ground conditions won't allow for a simple patio stone foundation. So be sure to read through our foundation section or give one of our designers a call and have a chat about your situation.
Building permits are another issue that can't be overlooked if your planning on building a playhouse that's over 110 square feet. Give our permit section a read through and more importantly pick up the phone and call your local building permit office and explain what you're building, and where it's going and they'll provide you with the information that you'll need to plan things.

Ordering your playhouse online is simple and hassle free. Regardless of whether you start off in the styles, favorites or the custom design center, any of our photos can be modified and ordered online. Just follow through to the details section, or continue to the order page, enter your details and confirm your order. Don't worry about all the little details as once you've completed your order a design expert will contact you to confirm the size, window and door placement and other details. And if there are problems that we can't sort out manually, we can always cancel your order.
If you prefer to deal with a live person for the selection and ordering process - we're here to help. We'd recommend that you spend a little time reviewing the styles before calling in, so you have some idea as to what style you like. From there we can sort out option choices, sizing, and all the other details over the phone, including taking your payment.
We make it easy to order your playhouse!
Getting your playhouse from our door to yours is child's play - especially if you're in the Toronto area. Our local deliveries are all performed by our own crew - and are equipped with a rugged forklift making it possible to get your kit as close to the installation site.
If you don't live in the Toronto area, then your playhouse will be shipped via common carrier - which just means it'll be shipped on a flatbed semi truck. Provided you live in an area that allows access to such a vehicle, that's all you'll need to worry about. If large trucks can't get to your home or cottage, then we'll need to arrange for cartage. A smaller truck will meet up with the carrier - and will deliver it to your door.
If you happen to live in a really remote or inaccessible area such as an island - call us to discuss your situation and we'll figure something out specific to your situation.
